I hadn't noticed the highway streetlights were yellow. On the far corner of the bus I had been greeted by a full moon hovering in front of me as I laid my head on the side of the window. It feels as if it had come down to check on how I was doing. As the bus turned eastward and stopped, the moon's position was replaced by the reflection of a yellow streetlight. In a tiresome and quiet week I felt a moment of warmth. In ways that respect nature, something omniscient had used it's abilities to reassure someone. Leaving a mark to remind an individual of their worth still with hands as full as theirs. As I left my stop and went on my 12km stroll northward, I looked left and the full moon had a clear view of me for my whole journey. Every person I had passed throughout the way had a somber and exhausted tone to them. The multi-residential homes surrounding the road was low income. Cars no younger than 15 years in the parking lots with steering locks attached, dealers perched up on the corners of strip malls, boarded windows, escorts walking out of homes and industrial buildings in a short walking distance from their homes. I don't know how many are aware of the moon's presence. Upon reaching my final destination, the moon had fallen and the sun had begun rising eastward. The east had an orange-pink gradient along the horizon. I stayed at the top of a bridge to relax and admire the view. Looking down I saw 3 landscapers leaning along their trucks sharing smokes and looking off in the same direction. I lit a cigarette with them, but I only smoked half before throwing it away. A homeless person will eventually find it on the floor and smoke the rest themselves, so I didn't step on it as I usually do.
